


THE BEAUTIFUL VILLAGE OF FAUGERES
Faugères, is famed for its A.O.C award winning wines. The village lies in the foothills of the Haut Languedoc National Park. On a clear day, you can see the Mediterranean glistening on the horizon, and the stunning high peaks of the Pyrenees
The Mediterranean is just 35 mins away with its sandy beaches catering for all tastes and the nearby attractive ports of Sete, Meze and Marseillan specialise in seafood restaurants.
The historic Medieval town of Pezenas is just 25 minutes away and has a great Saturday market and many antique shops. To the north is kayaking on the river Orb, and attractive walks and hiking trails over the hills and gorges. Horse riding is also nearby.
The city of Beziers is 30 minutes it has a Friday colourful flower market, good shopping, a medieval cathedral, many great restaurants and it is very close to the Canal du Midi which offers nice walks and boat rental.
Narbonne is 45 minutes.
Montpellier with its bars and restaurants and great shopping is just over one hour away.
The medieval village is just a short stroll from the apartment and is well worth a visit, as it's very interesting to walk around and admire the architecture and the quaintness.
Our new restaurant in the village is La Nona which is owned by chef propriétaire Maxim who earned a Michelin recommendation for his last restaurant. The restaurant is very comfortable with outside tables in the Summer and the food which is locally sourced is superb. The menu offers three courses at a set price or you can just order the individually priced dishes. Coffee, beer and wines are served outside restaurant serving hours should you just be passing by and be thirsty .
Above the village we have the three 16th century windmills , one of which is in working order and one other has been converted to a viewing platform and on a clear day you can see for many miles.
We have a boulangerie a 2 minute walk away offering great bread and breakfast goods including croissants and pains au raisin.
Above the boulangerie is our butchers specialising in locally reared meat.
Our wine bar offers a great selection of wines,
It serves great food and offers fresh oysters and shellfish along with a full menu to choose from including tapas-style dishes.
In Summer there are weekly live music evenings where you can dance the evening away whilst enjoying delicious food and wines
There is also a petrol station in the village.
